A3 carbide nozzle
In times of sustainability and fast-pace, we have
worked on making our high-performance plasma system - atmospheric plasma even more low-maintenance and
wear-resistant.
The most commonly used nozzles of the atmospheric plasma so far
are the copper nozzles. In processes in which the arc is transferred to the
substrates, e.g. when cleaning or reducing metal surfaces, the copper nozzles have very
long lifetimes, However, when polymer surfaces are
activated, the arcs dock to the lip of the nozzle, resulting in a shortened lifetimedue
to erosion.

|
In order to extend the lifetime of the
nozzles in this coveted operating mode, we have now developed
the carbide
nozzles.

|
In contrast to the copper nozzles, they have a
carbide core. Due to the material properties of carbide, the nozzles are much more resistant to
oxidation and erosion than standard
copper nozzles. Thus, for
the treatment of polymers, nozzle lifetimes 4 times longer than with the copper nozzles could
be achieved.
Customers benefit from a significantly longer
service life of the nozzle and consequently from a low-maintenance, sustainable and stable
process.
